Another Brick (or stud) in the Wall, Part 1

Drum roll please.  Summon the trumpets.  Unfurl the banners.  It is time, ladies and gentlemen, to frame the first phase of the cabin.  Years, literally years, of late nights spent on the internet dreaming of land have led to this place.  Hours and hours of YouTube videos supplementing hundreds and hundreds of articles and books supplementing about 6 months of construction experience over the past 2 decades come to fruition here.  More excel spreadsheets than I care to admit spanning several iterations of employer provided computers have been condensed to the one I am using to order my materials tomorrow.  This will be phase 1, the first half of our new home complete with loft bedrooms for the kids.

Eleven days stand between me and the project of a lifetime.  If all of this sounds like I'm being dramatic, well, I am.  Other men would take a week to do this project from beginning to end.  But we are weekend warriors here, paying cash as we go and working only when the funds and the schedule will cooperate.  The plan is to get the first floor and the loft framed in between Thursday the 30th and Sunday the 2nd of April.  We are on track to finish the roof framing by mid-April and complete the dry in by the first week of May.  That leaves all of May, June, July and August to hit the river and prepare the cabin for our tentative move in near the end of October.  Phase 2, effectively doubling the footprint of our home, minus the loft, will start in the next 12-24 months after move it.
So, let's see what we can make happen.  I mean, how hard can this be.

Haha!  Here's a peek at the plans with some of the crucial details redacted to ensure that we don't get hung up on perfection!  I'm using these drawing to tweak our blueprints, using the 4 stud corner method and always erring on the side of more solid, heavier and more lumber if presented with the choice to scrimp.
